BUNDLE OF 6 WILLOW CUTTINGS
Salix sitchensis ‘Sitka’
Sitka is a native to the PNW. Broad, oval leaves with a white fuzzy underside are beautiful in the breeze and display unmatched fall foliage color for a willow. It produces catkins on mahogany colored rods. Another very good choice for erosion control projects where PNW native plants are specified, with the added benefit of being hospitable to pollinators. Although not very useful for traditional basketry, we love it for making rustic wattle fencing and screens. When coppiced annually, the rods are not branched, but have a slightly wavy form.
Not especially deer resistant.
Grows 5’-9’ uncoppiced for us.
