Salix udensis ‘Sekka’ (Japanese Fantail Willow)
A very unique pussy willow that is amazing in floral designs! A percentage of the red-toned stems are fasciated, flattening and curling in a most unusual way. Left uncoppiced, Sekka will grow into a very large, mounded shrub 9’-15’ tall.
While no one seems to know what causes the fasciated growth, or how to encourage it, a very large number of our stems ARE fasciated. That certainly is no guarantee, but we think Sekka is worth the trial. It’s really something!
