Salix gracistyla "Melanostachys"- Black pussy willow! This variety has dark reddish black stems and black catkins. A great one for floral design, interesting in the landscape, and, as with all pussywillows, a good offering for pollinators in early spring. Awarded the 2012 U.K. Award of Garden Merit for outstanding ornamental value and garden performance.
