Salix acutifolia ‘Blue Streak’ develops a unique, waxy white bloom on its mature rods and has a graceful, elongated leaf. It is nice for accents in basketry and gorgeous in wreaths, although the plants aren’t generous producers of rods. It can be a good for living fences in certain situations, as its relatively sparse growth habit can make it easier to manage than more prolific willows. Adding to its beauty in the landscape, it produces plentiful smaller catkins on dark, reddish-brown stems. In spring and summer, the frosty looking rods and graceful, elongated leaves remind one of bamboo. One of our favorites.
Grows 7'-10' for us.
