Salix purpurea Bleu’
A favorite for basket weaving, Bleu has nice, long, slender rods with spectacular color. Soaked and dried for basketry, it will re-dry to dark gray with a purplish red tinge. Also great for living structures. The reddish purple tips on new growth are some of the prettiest on our farm.
Coppiced annually, Bleu grows 6'-9' in a season for us.
