Salix daphnoides ‘Dugpil’ - A beautiful Danish variety that will put a smile on any willow grower’s face. Similar to Continental Purple, in that it has large robust, deep purple rods, frosted with a white “bloom.” This variety tends to be a little straighter and stouter than Continental Purple, however. Makes a fabulous living fence or structure. We intend to plant a row of Dugpil pollards here on the farm, and expect it to be fabulous!
(The photo here shows one year old plants with a good bit of branching. Older plants are much less branchy.)
Grows 7’-10’ in a season for us.
